JENIFER ALTMAN AWARDS 2005 - Dr. ROMY QUIJANO
Dr. Quijano is a board member of Pesticide Action Network- Asia
Pacific (PAN-AP) and Co-Chair of the International POPs Elimination
Network (IPEN) a coalition of over 300 public interest organizations
around the world that promotes policies to protect public health
and the environment from persistent toxic chemical pollutants. He
is a medical doctor, a toxicologist, and an Associate Professor
at the Department of Pharmacology, University of the Philippines
and a lifelong advocate for human rights and environmental justice.
Dr. Quijano also serves as the international public interest nongovernmental
organizations representative on the Standing Committee of the Intergovernmental
Forum on Chemical Safety, and on the boards and advisory boards
of numerous civil society organizations.
